ZIMBABWE HIGHLIGHTS

  • Victoria Falls (Mosi-oa-Tunya) - One of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Twice as wide and deep as Niagara Falls.

  • Best views from the Zimbabwean side — explore 16 viewing points in Victoria Falls National Park. Activities: helicopter flights, white-water rafting, bungee jumping, Devil’s Pool (from Zambia), and sunset cruises on the Zambezi.

  • Hwange National Park - Zimbabwe’s largest national park and a Big Five safari destination. Famous for its massive elephant herds, lions, wild dogs, and diverse birdlife. Excellent year-round game viewing, especially from June to October.

  • Mana Pools National Park - UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s most beautiful and wild reserves.

  • Known for walking safaris, canoe safaris on the Zambezi, and up-close elephant encounters. Remote and raw — perfect for adventurous travelers.

  • Matobo National Park - Home to dramatic granite rock formations, ancient rock art, and the tomb of Cecil Rhodes. Excellent for rhino tracking on foot and discovering Zimbabwe’s cultural history.

  • Eastern Highlands - Cool, misty mountains, forests, waterfalls, and lush valleys.

  • Popular spots: Nyanga, Chimanimani, and Vumba. Great for hiking, fly-fishing, birdwatching, and scenic drives.

  • Great Zimbabwe Ruins - One of Africa’s most important archaeological sites and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The remains of a powerful medieval African kingdom (11th–15th centuries). Features impressive dry-stone walls, the Great Enclosure, and spiritual significance.

  • Khami Ruins - Another ancient city and UNESCO-listed site near Bulawayo.

  • Less visited but significant in the history of the Rozvi Kingdom.

  • Lake Kariba - One of the world’s largest man-made lakes.

  • Houseboat safaris, fishing (especially tigerfish), and relaxing amid wildlife-rich shorelines. Best explored from Binga or Kariba town.

  • Bulawayo - Zimbabwe’s second-largest city with wide tree-lined streets and colonial charm. Visit the Natural History Museum, Railway Museum, and nearby Matobo Hills.

  • Harare - The capital city, known for its lively markets, galleries (like the National Gallery), and gardens. Less touristy, but a good base for exploring central Zimbabwe.
